What are you gonna do when your time has come, And your life is done
and there's nothing you can stand on?
What will you have to say at the judgment throne?
Well, I already know the only thing that I can say
I trust in Jesus, my great Deliverer. My strong Defender, the Son of God. I trust in Jesus, blessed Redeemer.
My Lord forever, the Holy One" - Third Day

Training is a grind sometimes, mentally and physically. Continuing to PR, even through some tough motivational times. It is easy to train when you are riding the high, but hitting it hard when the weight feels heavy and you feel like you are moving in slow motion wears you down. These are humbling times, but I will not relent.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body." 2 Corinthians 4:8-10

My deepest prayers and sympathies are out to the victims and the families involved in the terrorist events on Monday in Boston.

The Boston Marathon bombing is a grim reminder that there is evil plotting, planning and waiting to take advantage at any time. We each have individual responsibility to remain vigilant, this collective individual responsibility will strengthen the vigilance of our nation. The ability to take responsibility for ourselves, family, friends, country men and women is what has made America the country it is today. We must not become despondent and complacent in the wake of these events. The threat is real, it is always there; we must recognize this reality and stand ready to face those who are against US.

Americans for America.

04.09.13

04.09.13

This is my first post since the CFG open has finished. Now I can stop feeling terrible about my mediocre (at best) conditioning and get into killing some PR's.

Today was two short workouts separated by about 3 hours. 3 PR's today, which is always a good thing, but I feel as though I am on the edge of much more. Have to keep pushing on.

Session 1

1. 1 RM HBBS
    135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 275x3, 315, 365, 390PR (10# PR over 380# [12-2-12]) 405xFx2, 335, 355,375,395F
     Not a huge PR (10#), ill take it. Unsuccessful attempt to work back up to another PR.
 2. 15m Snatch (full) Form Work
    135/175

Session 2

1. 1 RM Push Press
    95, 135, 175, 205,205*(PR), 225, 245, 265 PR (15#PP PR over 250# [2-1-13])
*205 felt nice and strong in the front rack and decided to strict press it for a 5# PR over 200# [2-7-13]

2. Rear Split Jerk Practice - Triples
    135x3, 185x3, 225x3, 245x3

04.01.13

04.01.13

First and foremost, He is risen! Happy Easter! I know I'm a day late, but I can't help but to continue to celebrate such a glorious day. Easter is the single most important day of a Christian's year. Without the death, and most importantly, the resurrection of Jesus Christ there would be no hope.

The past week has been hectic to say the least and haven't had the opportunity to post. No excuses.

 Let me get up to date, the only WOD since last Monday was on Friday, when I did CF Open 13.4 which was this:

03.29.13

CFG Open 13.4
7m AMRAP Ladder (3/3, 6/6, 9/9...)
135# "Clean and Jerk" / Toes to Bar.

Score: 88

All in all, I thought I paced this out too much especially on the 6's and 9's. I certainly could have scored quite a bit higher if I had repeated the workout, however, I don't believe in mulligans in competition.

04.01.13

1a. 1 Full Snatch every 20 sec for 4 mins (12 total reps) @ 75% (195#).
      11/12 - Missed my very first rep of series, then hit the next 11.
                       - 3min Rest -
1b. 1 Full Snatch every minute on the minute for 8 mins (8 total reps) @ 85% (220#).
      6/8 - Missed my first two reps, both misses were from mistakes below the knees. Corrected this by slowing my pull from the floor to my knees.

2.Conditioning: 8:56
100 Double Unders
100ft Barbell Overhead Walk (155#)
30 Pull Ups
100ft Barbell Overhead Walk (155#)
30 Pull Ups
100ft Barbell Overhead Walk (155#)
100 Double Unders

For His Glory.

 "Surely he took up our pain
    and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
    stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
    and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
    each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
    the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and afflicted,
    yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
    and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
    so he did not open his mouth.
By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
    Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
    for the transgression of my people he was punished.
He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
    and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
    nor was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
    and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
    and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
11 After he has suffered,
    he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
    and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
    and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
because he poured out his life unto death,
    and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
    and made intercession for the transgressors." Isaiah 53: 4-12
